This Data Protection Notice (the “Notice”) will inform you as to how Wastebuster CIC (known as the data controller) look after your personal data when you interact with Wastebuster CIC, including: when you: visit recycletoread.org, or participate in our programmes or campaigns, or that you otherwise provide to us (collectively our “Services”). This Notice applies in addition to any relevant Terms and Conditions that may apply to the Services we are providing and is provided in a layered format so you can click through to the specific areas set out below.

1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WHO WE ARE

1.1 Purpose of this Notice

1.1.1 This Notice aims to give you information on how we collect and process your personal data through your use of our Services.

1.1.2 Our Services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children. Although some actions are designed for children, we ask that adults register rehoming and recycling of toys on behalf of their children using an adults contact email.

1.1.3 It is important that you read this Notice together with any other data protection notice or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. This Notice supplements other notices and is not intended to override them.

1.2.1 Wastebuster CIC (a private company limited by guarantee without share capital and registered in England and Wales with company number 05883640) is the controller and responsible for your personal data (referred to as “we“, “us” or “our” in this Notice).

1.2.2 You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance using the contact details at the end of this Notice.

1.3 Changes to our Notice and your duty to inform us of changes

1.3.1 We keep our Notice under regular review. We may amend this Notice at any time. To the extent necessary under applicable law, we will notify you of material changes that we make to this Notice. You should cease using or accessing our services if you do not accept such changes. This version was last updated on 31.08.2023.

1.3.2 It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.

1.4.1 Our Services may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. 2. THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

2.1 Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

2.2 We may collect and otherwise process different types of personal data from multiple sources, including: (i) collecting personal data directly from you; (ii) personal data that is automatically generated about you; and (iii) personal data that we receive about you from third parties.

2.3 We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

2.3.2 Contact Data includes email address.

2.3.3 Usage Data includes information about how you use our Services and responses to questions given as part of projects and campaigns.

2.3.4 Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, cookie information, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, language settings, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.

2.3.5 Image Data includes photographs.

3. IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA

3.1 Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of an agreement we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide our Services). In that case, we may have to cancel a Service you have with us but we will notify you if that is the case at the time.
